A210 The Delegates of the Standing Conference of Oriental Orthodox Churches in America
Resolved, That the House of Bishops, meeting at this 81st General Convention of The Episcopal Church in Louisville, Kentucky, sends our greetings and the assurance of our prayers to His Grace Bishop David, Bishop of the Coptic Orthodox Diocese of New York and New England, President of the Standing Conference of Oriental Orthodox Churches, and the Delegates of the Conference, rejoicing in the long and significant relationship that has existed between the Oriental Orthodox Churches and the Anglican Communion;
and further assures the Conference of our prayers for a renewed and deepening relationship between the Episcopal Church and the Oriental Orthodox Churches as a visible expression of the vocation of the Church to the ministry of reconciliation and to the unity of all in Christ;
and further sends our commitment in solidarity to our Christian sisters and brothers of their Churches wherever they face persecution, violence, and displacement, especially in the Holy Land and the Middle East;
and further expresses our concern and prayers for the ongoing difficulties of the Ethiopian Orthodox Tewahedo Church and the Eritrean Orthodox Tewahedo Church.
